FInal Composition Investigation & Plan
Dirctions
For each written part from the section below, your work should be written out or typed in Word or Pages.
  
Part I
Answer the following prompts based on the above article.
  1. After the Impressionists (work of artist like Monet, VanGogh, Renoir, Cassat, etc) what were the 4 next major art eras in painting?  Describe each one.
  2. What is "Surrealism"?  What did they paint?  Name two Surrealist artists and how do they compare to Picasso from the Cubist era?
  3. Explain in your own words what it means to paint from "Visual to Pure Expression."
  4. What does it mean to express commentary through images?  
  5. Describe or Analyze the work and intention of artist Peggy McGivern.  What is her artwork like and what is it about?
  6. "Literal interpretation does not always capture a subject's essence."  Do you agree with this statement?  Why or why not?  Give an example to better communicate your thought.
  7. What inspires you?  What comes naturally to you?  What is your voice?  Read pages 24-25.  How do you respond to this section of the book?

Part II
Answer the questions on page 26 by referring to the images on pgs 26-27


Part III
Complete each exercise on page 29.  Your responses can be written on your work for this assignment or may be completed in your sketchbook.
