Drawing Final - Improvement & Comparison Analysis

Picture
For your final, it would be great to know if you've improved in your drawing ability.  Well, you ask, "How can we put parameters on drawing ability?"  How has your drawings improved proportionally, spatially, with value, and expressiveness?  Has your drawing muscle memory become more controlled?  Let's find out!!!

PART I
Complete 1 drawing in your sketchbook or on a white piece of drawing paper for each listing.

  1. 1 clothespin
  2. 1 grouping of 3 geometric forms
  3. 1 contour drawing of both your left and right hands
  4. 1 blind contour drawing of a face (label who it is)
  5. 1 controlled drawing of a portrait using symmetrical guidelines
  6. 5 gesture poses of a figure, or for some reason you do not have your gesture drawings from before, draw something else from your sketchbook.

PART II
Take pictures of your new drawings and pictures of the drawings you completed earlier in the trimester.  Then, create a Google Presentation with all of your pictures and the following information from part III and IV.

PART III
Improvement & Comparison Analysis - Answer the following prompts.
  1. How does your current skill level compare to that of your previous skill?  What evidence is there to support your claim within the elements of proportion, spatial depth, value and shading, expressiveness and control, or even compositionally?
  2. Analyze how your work improved.  Do you see improvement in control or expressiveness when gesture drawing?  Where?
  3. Overall, what are some things you learned from taking this drawing class?  About yourself?  About your ability?  About your perceptions?
  4. If you could give an incoming Drawing A student advice, what would it be?

DUE
Last day before the next trimester.  This is when Mark Reporting for report cards is due.
