Option 1:  Fan of Fiction & Fantasy!

​Create a creature or character from the combination of 3 of the following subject matter imagery:
Research and use actual photos of these things.  
machinery

urban landscape
an animal

elemental
nature

technology
Use ink to finish the drawing.

Option 2:  Cut it Up & Make it New!!!

Process Suggestion Steps
  1. Take a photo of you or someone you know. 
  2. Print out your image. 
  3. Cut out your image from the print out.  
  4. Think about positive and negative space. 
  5. Cut away area that could add to the over all design and negative space of the composition.  Think about creative ways and areas you could add drawn elements. 
  6. Paste your cut out image(s) to the drawing surface.
  7. Add drawings to the "negative space" in and around the main photograph areas.  Tell a story.  Get creative.  
  8. This work should be at least 60 - 70% drawing and illustration.

Alphonso Dunn

Alphonso Dunn was born in Jamaica and migrated to the United States at age 17. Inspired by ambitions for a career in medicine, he completed his undergraduate study in Applied Chemistry at William Paterson University; however, his enduring passion for drawing led him to earn a Master of Fine Arts from the New York Academy of Art. After completing his graduate study, he taught high school chemistry and various college art courses. Alphonso has since won a number of awards and his work can be found in numerous private collections in the US and worldwide. He is widely known for his popular YouTube channel and art instruction books, Pen & Ink Drawing: A Simple Guide and Pen & Ink Drawing Workbook. His YouTube channel has over 450,000 followers and features hundreds of free videos and tutorials on drawing, sketching, pen and ink, watercolor and more for learners at all levels. He currently resides in New Jersey.
