The Armature
Warm Up Activity: Prime the Learning
- Partner up with a peer. Take turns posing as a model.
- Draw a series of gesture poses of your model. Find the axis lines within the form of the model. Find the action pose and gesture of the body.
An armature is the "skeleton" of the sculpture upon which you add the "muscles", "cartilage", "tissue or skin", and other features.
An Armature can be metal, or other flexible materials, and acts as a framework on which material is added to form the sculpture.
