Required Step 1: Take a series of 5-6 photos of random figures in different poses. Consider what the figurative pose communicates. Examine how the artists listed above use figurative pose to communicate their intent. Consider how the figures will be organized (or interact) in a way that represents your SI theme.
Suggested Step 2: Next, in a landscape orientation (picture plane), draw very light (almost unseeable) guidelines as shown below to guide the placement of your figures.
Suggested Step 3: Sketch in your figurative poses within the guidelines to illustrate depth and proportion. Remember, you can do this in any fashion you deem appropriate for your SI Theme.
Required Step 4: Create a composition as inspired by one of the artists we’ve seen, with the figurative form as the main subject, and tied to your SI theme.
