Create a sculptural paper avant-garde piece of jewelry that depicts a sense of movement or contrast.
http://www.paperphine.com/?p=3315 Find an old book, novel, dictionary, encyclopedia, etc. that you feel good about destroying - something with sheets of paper that fold nicely and will hold its form when folded. You may also use blank sheets of paper if you have any. Use whatever you can find, but magazine pages and newspaper will probably give you problems. The printed word can be a great design element that has many aesthetic possibilities. Use Origami techniques to fold paper into forms you can use for an Avant Garde piece of Jewelry! String the forms you create together using a piece of string or necklace. If you do not have string or a necklace, get creative - the more "out there" and different your work can be, the more "Avant-Garde" it will be!!! Also, If you struggle folding paper into origami, or just plain hate it...you can try to "build" paper forms with tape. Only try to hide the fact you used tape.
