Computer Art 'B' is an intermediate computer graphics class. With an introductory focus on vector design, animation and video. We use graphic programs currently used by graphic designers and artists in the professional fields of work such as Illustrator, After Effects, Photoshop, and Mac software such as iMovie and Photobooth. Students apply more sophisticated techniques to create, edit and transform new or existing images. Although the majority of the class will be spent learning the "ins and outs" of Illustrator and vector art, stop motion animation using Adobe After Effects and Photoshop and Flash will also be taught. Additional technology and skills are explored to create multimedia artworks in a variety of formats. This course enhances creativity as well as graphic and computer skills.
We also describe, analyze, interpret and evaluate computer-generated arts in its historical, cultural, and social contexts. Students understand a variety of technology in terms of purpose, function and application through knowledge and application of Elements of Art, Principles of Design and creative problem-solving. We explore career options and the sometimes controversial role computer-generated art plays in society.
Most importantly, we will create amazing computer art!
