Sculpture Project Vocabulary Additive Process - Modeling: Material is added during the building process Subtractive Process - Removing material to create a detailed form or textures Armature - a framework around which the sculpture is built. Form - Objects in art that have 3 dimensions. "In the Round" Color - the property possessed by an object of producing different sensations on the eye as a result of the way the object reflects or emits light. Texture - how the surface of an object feels. "Actual" or "Visual" Variety - "to change the character" of an element of art, to make it different. Unity - a sense of harmony or wholeness in a work of art. Contrast / Emphasis - the arrangement of opposite elements (light vs. dark colors, rough vs. smooth textures, large vs. small shapes, etc.) in a piece so as to create visual interest, excitement and drama. Emphasis is the extra importance put on a singular part or element of an artwork.
